Hi Shane,
Are you using tabbed chat(File preferences , chat window, "Use tabbed chat" ) is that enabled?
Bring invitation to front is different from one on one chat. Go to preferences , notification, click on "one on one chat" and select from the list of preferences to disable bring to front.
There are no known issues with this at this time fro sametime 8.5. By the way, you cannot have group chats to flash, and one on one to come to the front. Its either enabled or disabled.
